Radio Maria is a fruit of the response to the call of Pope John Paul II to use the Mass Media as a means of evangelization. By “evangelization”, Radio Maria aims to bring Christ into every home, communicating peace, joy and comfort to its listeners particularly the sick, the imprisoned, the lonely, and the neglected. We also aim to be a school of formation for all generations with special care for the youth.  This is by the collaboration of the clergy, religious and lay people.

Radio Maria is funded from the donations of its listeners. It is managed and operated by volunteers under the Directorship of a priest with the approval of his Ordinary.  The Priest-Director ensures that sound Catholic teaching is broadcast over Radio Maria.

Radio Maria originated from Italy where it was founded in 1983. There are now 50 Radio Maria national associations around the world. From this emerged the World Family of Radio Maria Association based in Varese, Italy. Each member station, bound by one mission and one charism, while committed to helping each other, is independent of each other and should be self-sufficient.

In the Philippines, Radio Maria begun on February 11, 2002. At present it can be heard over 99.7FM in the province of Tarlac and some parts of Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Pangasinan, La Union, Zambales and Aurora.  It also reaches Lipa City, Calapan, Mindoro, Naga City and Samar on audio-mode over Cable TV.  It can also be heard in Sorsogon City over DWAM-FM.  It also has listeners from abroad and the rest of the country reached via audio streaming through the internet at www.radiomaria.ph and www.radiomaria.org. Radio Maria seeks to be close to its listeners by being interactive with them participating by voice call over the phone or by text messages and e-mail.

The Filipino is full of rich insights which he is eager to share with his fellow Filipinos.

This is what Radyo Bandido wishes to tap into.

DZRJ 810AM is focused on discussing the important choices, milestones and controversies that come on a daily basis in Filipino life – politics, society, entertainment, family life, and others. Fueled by a hot issue, listeners are eager to talk back and share their thoughts via an appropriate venue, and talking about the issues of the streets, with the man on the street, is DZRJ’s commitment.

A MATTER OF FATE
RJAM 810 kHz started as a music oriented station in the 1960’s. For many years RJ AM provided the backdrop for our lives, playing the soundtrack of our time as the no. 1 AM station in the 1970’s. Fate would have it that during the EDSA Revolution; the station would play a vital role as Radyo Bandido, The voice of democracy.

Today, RJAM 810kHz is driven back into focus by the recent political events. It heeds the call of the nation to once again become the ultimate mouthpiece of public officials.

“The ordinary Filipino is full of rich insights he is eager to share with his fellow citizens”.

A MATTER OF COMMITMENT
Is “Taking the issue to the streets”. With the aid of telecommunication boom; the streets are taken to the studio. The talk back concept has shown a significant response. Fueled by the hot issue; listeners are eager to share their thoughts via an appropriate venue. Instead of being driven by personalities, the ordinary Filipino becomes the personality of the station. Each one of us given his “minute under the sun”!!

A MATTER OF PRIDE
What is presented for discussion is an issue hot enough to fuel a vigorous response. Although discussions maybe political; the focus can be shifted into social or even entertainment issues. The format itself offers enough resiliency for the discussion of issues from the presidency to family life; from politics to entertainment. The choices are endless. DZRJ 810 AM will take the nation up on all worthwhile issues.

Only a few radio stations can claim to have changed the landscape of Philippine history. Radyo Veritas is one of them. It played a pivotal role during the 1986 EDSA Revolution that toppled the Marcos regime by being the voice of reason and temperance at a time of great political upheaval.

But ultimately, Radyo Veritas’ key role is not political but spiritual.

The “Voice of Asian Christianity’s” two-fold objectives - evangelization and human development, are the guiding principles with which it reaches out to the millions of Filipinos that tune into them. And this is reflected in the Radyo station’s programming.

Its Radyo programs touch on matters of Christian faith - dialogue with religions and cultures, catechesis, the role of the church in the modern world, doctrine, Liturgy, Sacraments, etc.

For its developmental features, Radyo Veritas Asia broadcasts programs on health, community development, science and technology, women and youth, the family, folklore, history, and other related features.
